I've been hearing how great Greyhound Shipping is and decided to check it out. I typed in two examples of two different packages (different sizes and weights) from Virginia to Texas and one was $23 more compared to the USPS and the other was $9 more compared to UPS.

Do you all find them higher? I was told that they were a good amount cheaper.

I shipped a 1933 Right Rear fender from St. Louis to Lexington Kentucky for $50. Two years ago a man shipped two rear fenders to me from California to St Louis for $26.oo. The only drawback is you have to go to the Greyhound terminal to pick up.

For "normal" packaged shipments Greyhound might be more expensive. They are definitely less when you ship large irregular shaped items like fenders.

Appreciate the info y'all. I now see where they are the best (shipping very large packages). I noticed on their site that they also have very generous package size limitations.

I also got re-reminded of what a friend of mine just told me today. When shipping 2 or more of the same type items to the same place, the price goes up very little. I recently priced 3 heavy engine parts to Texas and the USPS had the best prices at $108 total. I just checked on what it would be by Greyhound and the price was $60. By one item the USPS will beat Greyhound, but what a difference with multi items.

Guess I'll be checking with Greyhound more and more. Even tho, as mentioned above, you have to go to the terminals, many times it looks like it will be worth it.

Thanks again.

Bill
