I think I'm agreeing with the posts about "comments" about a car when it's a dealer situation.

My comments back on 6/29 @ 444pm were directed toward an "individual's" car. I was not recalling this '32 was listed by a dealer.

Isn't this the same "goof" that has the '46 pick-up with the V6??

Really, There are people in many places and there are many old Chevrolet fans that can only dream about owning as nice a car as the 32, the 46 pickup and also the blue Caprice Convertable this dealer is selling on eBay.

If you want another one to jump on. Check out 30 Roadster pickup . It has been listed with the 1970s decription taken from a magazine article several times on eBay. Despite sending corrections to the lister it never changes. Some people are either hard headed, uninformed or untrusting. In any case still not historically correct. That sure is different from Politically correct though related.

right, chipper...this is the same roadster delivery listed for sale without success last year on ebay, which we had discussed here: link

note the opening bid has been almost halved to encourage bid action...

still, at the right price and corrections, a nice roadster delivery...and, while more than five clearly exist, the real number of '29-32 road-worthy roadster delivery's is probably less than a hundred?..

At the risk of not having a heart or not having a life (still have free speech under the constitution though), I must say that the owner of the 1930 roadster delivery sure can't count. He lists 8 cylinders in the item description, but the truck has a straight six.

The owner states that the truck is in all original condition and that it has never been restored. Hum......we won't go there because it would take to long!

As Chipper said in a previous posting, there are more than five of these known to exist. And, the seller states that all of the remaining trucks are in California. Well.....I know of one in Washington and I believe that it is still there unless it has been sold in the meantime.

However, as Chevrolet stated, at the right price this roadster delivery would be a good vehicle and a great project for someone to tinker with.

...speaking of hearts, Dawg have you been taking your heartworm pills? We don't want you to end up with heartworms! you also gotta be careful where you dig up them old rusty bones, and watch out for them trash trucks, that is what did in "Rex the wondering dog", he had a big old heart but it was no match for a 5 ton truck.

since you got a heart and a life, hang in there!
ARF! ARF! wink chevy

If you check the other topic listed as "31 truck" you know why we have to have no heart and no life.
Without our comments (or corrections) the thoroughbred would no longer exist.
Someone will buy that truck and tell all that it is a 31 Chevy Truck.
...and "Stovebolt" used to be a Pitbull. (close, only differant front end)

RGwiz,

My wife is from Long Island which is close to Wayne, N. J. and she has no heart! I use to live in N.J. myself. Personally I like the definition number three(3) in Websters dicitionary - "thoroughbred" - " having characteristics resembling those of a Thoroughbred".

I have no idea what you're talking about John. But the third definition is definitely the best one. However, note that the letter "T" must be capitalized to relate to "Thoroughbred."

According to Merriam-Webster (must be after ol'Webster got married to Merriam) the capitalized word Thoroughbred should be followed by a 1. "Thoroughbred 1 is an English breed of light speedy horses kept chiefly for racing".

So, maybe thoroughbred was a bad choice of word to use.

How 'bout... Whitebread! It's the real thing and everybody knows what it is...

Oh, John; please tell your wife that Long Island is just about as far away as you can get from New Jersey. Besides, we have more Thoroughbred 1's.

Hey RG,

I don't understand what you guys are saying. Wondering if it's a 'local joke' or something like that.

Help out a 'left coaster' and explain all this to me.

Just curious.

OK Bill, I'll try.

We here in New Jersey and New York have an understanding that every time we get the chance we will put down the other person's State. It has everything to do with bragging rights and nothing to do with that person, just a constant battle between New York and New Jersey.

When ya look at all the stuff that is shared by the two States you will see why both States want to take credit for it.

Oh yeah John, tell your wife she can come over and take back the JETS!

Understood. Sorta like North Dakota and Sound Dakota, or some such thing.

I also completely understand about taking the football team back. But isn't it the Giants??

Do 'you' (in NJ) have the Jets now also??

Well Bill, officially both Teams are still New York teams but they both play at Giant's Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. It's about 20 min. from my house.

The Giant's built the Stadium when they left Yankee Stadium, and the Jet's just up and left Shea Stadium, and rent from the Giant's.

There are a lot of players from both teams that live in NJ, we bump into them all the time.

RG,

I'm more-or-less a sports fan but (I guess) not enough to realize the Jets had pulled out of Shea. I did know the Giants were 'dancin' on Hoffa!! But didn't know (remember ??) about the Jets. Thnx for the info....
