VCCA Home Forums TECHNICAL - 1945 AND EARLIER 1912-1928 Falmouth gray?

I am trying to find a formula for 1927/8 Falmouth gray, or a modern color that is a good match. The only thing that I have so far is IM-42. Can't make that work.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Andy.

I have a stencil for replacement color for 1928 Chevrolet

Falmouth gray : 68-74 Ford Truck P or K Boxwood Green, ACME 5558 R-M 2355 duPoint 4932, Ditzler 43716

If you are a VCCA member you could contact the Technical Advisor for 1927 or 1928. I know recently a bunch of research was done on that color and at least one '27 Touring painted with what was determined to be a good match.

Or you can purchase a quart of paint from TCP Global http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorlibrary/ and then have anyone match it. Or buy your paint from them. Of course that assumes their match is a good one.

Contacted one advisor and couldn't reach the other. Seems as though I am getting closer all of the time though. Thanks guys.

I take that back. I did receive emails and help from both tech advisors,27 and 28.This truly is a great organization to be a part of.That ford truck green may be a little to green, but I did order a Qt. from autocolor library,lets see if they can make it. I will report my findings.

The '27 TA should be able to give you the name of the '27 Touring owner that painted his touring recently.
