Hoping the tool man will drop in here and be able to answer my question. I’m looking through the 1948-51 Truck Service Manual at the tools in the engine assembly section pg. 6-46 and two box wrench adaptors have me wondering. The numbers are KMO-187-1 and …10. They are listed as Cylinder Head Wrench Attachment (close sweep) and (wide sweep).
The only place that it looks like they might be used is when torquing the center head bolt with the rockers still installed. I haven’t found them mentioned in the text so far. Does anyone know for sure??

KMO 187-1 Cylinder Head Wrench Attachment 3/4" Box with 1/2" drive. Fits Chevrolet bolts on the cylinder head except the center bolt on the cylinder heads.
KMO-187-10 Cylinder Head Wrench Attachment ( Wide Sweep ) 3/4" Box with 1/2" drive. Fits Chevrolet Car and truck Center Bolt except the 1950-1952 ( maybe 1950-1953 )Chevy 235 cu. in. engine.
Your Kent Moore tools are great to use when tightening the cylinder head bolts on your vintage Chevrolet engine.
This information came out of a 1952 Kent Moore Chevrolet Service Tool Booklet.

I have a similar Kent Moore tool that has both of the above Kent Moore Tools put together as one tool. It is a Kent Moore KMO 176. The KMO 176 does not need the 1/2" drive ratchet.

Thanks Dave, I shot ya over an email at your site.
I can't see any advantage to using those off sets if they will not reach the center bolt. All the rest of the bolts are easily accesable for torquing with a straight socket and extention. The only places where it might be a little tight is around the carb and fuel lines at the left front and even there I can get at mine ok.

The wide sweep is the one to use for the center bolt on the head. In other words, you can torque or tighten ALL of the cylinder head bolts with an extension on the socket. No special Kent Moore Tools woould be neede.
On the center head cylinder bolt, with the rocker arms on the car, you will need the wide sweep Kent Moore Special Tool to get to that center head bolt which is hidden under the rocker shaft.
