hello i have a 37 chevy 4 door sedan with style number 37-1219 body number j 2991 trim number 63 paint number 219 i tried searching but haven't fond any info yet thank you kelly

37-1219 = 1937 Master 4 door with trunk. Chevrolet called it a Sports Sedan. The Master was the lower priced line with front leaf springs.

J 2991 = body number. J = body made at the Janesville, Wi. Fisher Body plant, car would have been assembled in Janesville also. Janesville cars were nevershipped to the west coast. Would have been sold in the upper mid-west. Number is a production sequence number for that body style.

Trim #63 refers to the interior upholstery. Would be a brown mohair and there was no other choice for a Master.

Paint # 219 is Brookhaven Blue (exteror) with with a silver body stripe and silve wheel stripes. That would be a dark blue.

ive tried a search online and was having no luck i saw a decodeing for newer car and trucks there was a sight that decoded the tag i had for my 38 olds business coupe. the car was in denver colorado thanks again kelly

The serial nmber which is under the hood on the right side of the cowl will give more info.
