There are some exceptions but most engine regardless of manufacturer the piston does not protrude above the top of the block while some dont come that high. Tony
But how far down in the hole does the '33 piston sit while at TDC? Which is what I initially asked.
I am familiar with 50's and later motors. I know what deck height is, i know of high dome pistons where the dome is above deck height, and the "flat" part is say .035" down in the hole, the 350 HP, 327 for example..
But how far down does the '33 piston sit? 1/4"? 1/2", more?
The pistons in my 1934 Standard engine sit app.5 thou. down from the top of the block. This would vary slightly depending on how many shims have been removed.
