I needed to replace my throw out bearing due to wear. I had two holders one the clamp in style and the other the press in. The instructions from The FS with the clamp-in stated that the carbon insert Bearing may benefit from soaking in oil prior to installation. The press in has a cap on the side that lends itself to oil or lubrication. Should the pressed in bearing be lubricated prior to and or during the lifetime of the carbon insert? Thank you.

I would oil the press-in bearing prior to installation and that is all.
The 1934 shop manual says to fill oiler with transmission gear oil. Also says to fill oiler only when upon releasiing the clutch sqeaking noise occurs.
My '34 went for over 40 years and many thosands of miles with out refilling.
