1965 Chevelle, Several years ago I picked up an electric trumpet horn off of a 65 Chevelle it was mounted on the inner fender and looked to be a factory installation does any one have any information on this horn. Thank you

My 1965 accessories manual lists a Tri-Volume horn available for Chevrolet, Chevelle & Chevy II, option no. U-03, part no. 986265. I have a 1964 accessory installation manual but it is at the shop and I will check it when I can, it might be the same as 1965.

Larry: I checked my 1965 Dealer accessories list, and the U-03 Tri-Volume trumpet horn is listed as a 1965 genuine Chevrolet dealer accessory for the 1965 Chevelle, Chevrolet and Chevy II. It sold for $10.65 and this accessory was not used in 1964. This chrome plated trumpet horn is also pictured in the 1965 accessory catalog and the horn was usually mounted on the inner fender by the dealer when this accessory was purchased by the customer. I hope this info. helps you out.

Thank you guys, The horn that I have I took off a 65 Chevelle at the local pick a part and it was bolted on the inner fender and it is painted black, I just wanted to make sure that it was correct.

The correct accessory trumpet horn is long and skinny.
