Sitting where the driver should be (LHD) looking up to the roof in the center, starting at the rear view mirror back, there are some spring arms that look like they would hold a speaker or something, what are these there for?

Does anyone have a picture or good description of the retainers that hold the horizontal locking arms on a sedan trunk locking mechanism. Mine didn't come with the car and I am not sure what I am looking for?

Thanks
Dome light? idea
I had have the wooden mount for the dome light for the sedan and it is in the middle more rear-word. Would that be a dome light for a coupe?
One of the 1938 radios offered a header type or ear level speaker. They were available from 1935-1938.
The lid parts fit 1937 and 1938 models.

The overhead speaker (if that model radio is installed) is mounted there.

Thanks, that clears up the radio speaker issue. I imagine that option was an earful wow thanku

Gene thanks also for the PM

Check this out.
I have that part. what I am talking about is farther forward. I appreciate this but I believe it is solved as a speaker mount for a certain model radio.

On my 37 there was a fibre board in that area it was rivited to that part closest to the wind shield and on the other side it fit in the "U" shaped area on those rear brackets and was rivited also I think the speaker bolted to the fibre board
I'am interested now . What kind of speaker would fit in that space? Got to be a slim line or sort. Did it have a speaker grill? Does anybody have a picture of how it looked? What kind of sound did it have? (tinny) stressed
These pictures show the '38 roof speaker. I think all '38 closed bodies should have a speaker wire running up the drivers side front cowl post and across the roof near the windshield to the front center for use with this speaker. The roof speaker was used only with this Six Tube Superheterodyne Radio model, out of the 4 radio models available in '38. I believe there may have been a coarse grey screen or cloth covering the center dome of the speaker area. The 2 radio models that used cowl speakers, had a covering like that. Those cowl speakers were similar to the roof speaker except completely circular and thicker.

Thanks for the info on those speakers. I bet those are very rare.

Thanks to ChevyGene's pictures he sent me I was able to know what to look for for the trunk horizontal arm mounts.
I was able to find these in my stash of parts. It looks like something that would look really great chromed wave

Well I found that I have almost all the parts for the trunk lock. This little part seems simple but I don't have one so if any body does please let me know the price?

Thanks

If no one posts a good picture I'll snap a picture and post it. I "think" I know where those go and what they do but I've slept a few times since I had all that apart.
Tiny;

A picture would be very helpful. I am actually missing the part identified in the pictures I recently sent. I hope some has one laying around they will sell me.

Thanks
Doug

Think I have a can of that stuff. How many do you need?
I only need one. Do you want me to crop the picture down to the exact part. Its the one I wrote "This is the part I am missing" across. I can crop it if you need?

It mounts right next to where you have it placed. Excuse my poor aim with the camera but I'm having balance issues and can't tip my head to get better aim.

The center section.

Hope these help.
Thanks, I can see exactly where everything goes. No if I could find the one I am missing

If you don't already know, there are rubber gaskets between the parts of the trunk lock mechanism and the trunk. I use pond liner and cut the gaskets to fit, then use a hole punch for the bolt holes.

Brian
Thanks Brian good suggestion and I even have some leftover pond liner beermugs

Here are the photos of the fiberboard speaker mount. There are metal tabs on each side that are somewhat riveted to the board, the tabs are screwed to the car. The "rivets" holding the tabs to the board were more like two pronged fasteners that could be bent and taken off. The center part is held in with screws into the roof tabs. On the left is where the mice ate a moon shape into the board.
