I see what appears to be after market ignition wires with spark plug boots on them. From what I have found over the years, the original factory wires were copper core, black and bootless, is that correct or does anyone have any other information???

You are right on.

The 1953 were the firat to have boots and straight terminals.

Thank you gents, that's one more thing I can check off the list.
I'm studying to take my “know it all” rating. Seriously, just studying the late 40's and early 50's Chevy’s seems like an endless task learning all those little details.
