Kepi,
Don't get used to the superior service. I am sure it will change when the mail person changes again to someone that likes old Chevys. Must be the current delivery person is a F0RD lover.

Yes, the Ford people must be living somewhere near to Chevrolet, Kentucky, where they are allowed to run slower, to avoid bursting their engines.

We made a steady 55 to 65 miles through many hours from Oregon to Montrose with a 31 as pace car, so we were quite impressed about the Good old Chevy.

It got here to Man. yesterday......but with a BIG GLITCH, I mean a
big one. I don't complain that often....BUT something has to be
said here about the great and grand Post office. ......(CN or USA I
don't know yet)....... I have NEVER and won't ever, say anything
bad about the speed to which my copy gets here. I COULD CARE LESS,
like Ray has mentioned already.....IT IS WORTH THE WAIT. Every
time....irregardless of whether or not it is a special issue.
NEVER....I mean NEVER....have I ever gotten stuff in my mail box,
that was so....well.....%#*@)%@%3*$ up. (sorry) Now to the damage
to which my copy rec'd...... Front Cover.... BENT UP (some how) and
then back down.....lower right hand corner. ......Nicks and dents
ALL AROUND the edges of said front cover. .....Back Cover.....nicks
dents and again chips. I am VERY HESITANT TO SAY THIS HERE......but
there were NO PARTICULATE in the plastic bag, when Rec'd. That's
why I'm having a problem believing this. Now.....to the spine. (and
I know how this happens)...... If one were to say "eye ball" the
straightness of a 2 x 4 for example. Looking at the spine in the
same fashion......there is a curve to the RIGHT at the center of
that said spine. SOMEONE.....SOMEWHERE....has had my copy at the
bottom of a mailbag, face-down. (as if we had a choice) ......and
physically dropped it, say on a curb or table top edge. There is a
"TEAR" (T-A-R-E) of approx.. 1 in. long in length towards the
center of the book. Pages .....PIERCED CLEAN THROUGH.....incl. 103
to the final 128 and back cover. She now looks like a 145 TH
EDITION.....NOT a 45th. Has anyone else been as unfortunate as
myself in getting his or her copy this way????? I WILL FOLLOW THIS
UP.....I HAVE TO. This is a disgrace. I don't think the editors
will send me a new one will they?????? Thank you for allowing me to
bend your ear here. Don R.

Email Jean Fink and tell the story. She will probably send you another copy via first-class mail.

I received my Anniversary issue yesterday,29th December, in excellent condition.

I'd like to thank the editors, board & everyone involved for an excellent publication.

For me this will be a major reference when you people refer to '35 Master or a '70 Caprice.
I will now have an idea on what your typing about.

If USPS is anything like Aus Post my guess is that Fink publishing are not to blame for the damage so I would take your complaint to USPS instead.

If the damage was done by the US Post Office, they can care less! The easiest way out is to email Jean Fink, explain your problem, and request another copy. She will probably mail you a new issue right away.

2nd stage IS the final stage here. The following is from the Finks as of Saturday at 11:33 am. "Don
I am very sorry your issue got destroyed. I do not frequent the
chat site so I did not know of all this.
Glad you emailed us. We will be happy to send you out a new issue.
Unfortunatley, even here the Post Office destroys one now and then.
We will make sure a new one goes out to you right away.
Happy Holidays.
Regards
Dennis & Jean Fink" ..........And so ends the story.

Good Ending. Will be even better when you recv it in Manitoba.

For my 2 cents: I've met the Finks a number of times at All-Cal Meets and Nat'l Meets. I do know Dennis better than Jean. You know, just two guys "BS-ing" and "kicking tires" and so on. Regardless of positions, board member situations, politics and so on, I'd like to say they are good folks! I'm not interested in re-hashing any of that other stuff. Just wanted to say what I said.

Bill.

Yup......I know of what you speak of there Bill. I have a number of fellow car club people locally .....(non-VCCA types) myself that are REALLY GOOD friends. Thank you. Don.
