I hate to bring this up, but the January G&D didn't get here until this morning about 10:00 AM.

HA!! I'll bet you hate to mention it!! You may need medical assistance to get your tongue extracted from your cheek.

Anyway, your post prompted me to check my outside mail slot. WOW!! Me too! I was pleased to see a 54 Bel Air sedan like I'm looking for in the All Cal Meet logo on P. 20.

Also a 7 page article by Skippy....

I did see the folks you mentioned. And several others who were also on that JY Dog tour.

Nice to run through those "good memories." Seeing as how it's pretty chilly and raining again today, just thinking of how nice the weather was a pleasure.....

Sitting out on the motel balconey in the eve, BS-ing and having a cold one or two with Joe, Tony, Sal and others sure sounds good right about now!

As I was reading thru ken's and rbl's posts I was getting ready to recount your story about forgetting to send in your renewal, money, etc. But you did it for me.

I wonder if that might be the case with ken and rbl also?????

EXPIRATION DATE!!!! OMG!!!!! I FORGOT THE EXPIRATION DATE!!!!

Whew, for a minute there I thought I had to go through an embarrassing admission of having Old Timers Disease. Mine expires in March of 07 and I haven't rec'd a G&D since August. I think I'll call them in a little bit.

Oh, for the record, I still have Old Timers Disease. blush

Nope.......mine expires in Feb. of 2007 and I've already sent in my dues and got my new card back so now I'm good until Feb. 2008. It's just that sometimes the post office pony loses his way here in the hills of Vermont. I think its just been too warm for this time of year in Vermont and the pony is completely lost without snow on the ground. Sometimes G&D shows up real early and other times...........well it takes time for the mailman to reseal that plastic bag after he reads the G&D.......or maybe the postman is having a senior moment

Edit......here's my senior moment......I forgot to say my G&D did not arrive today......maybe the weekend??

I certainly didn't mean to infer any CRS, "Senior Moments," etc about rbl or Ken. In that "it" can happen to anybody, it just seemed worth checking.....

The delayed arrival of their G and D's actually would have been easier to understand if "renewal forgetfulness" had been the cause. Now it's back to the same old mystery..... how come???

Hey, if I can't take a joke about my getting older then plant me in the ground. Humor has gotton me through some pretty rough times. Laughing is my favorite past time. Laughing at myself is included in that. [Linked Image from forums.woodnet.net]

laugh Plant me next to rbl2 when I can't laugh about a joke. I agree rbl2.........humor is the best medicine, but in these days of political correctness we have to be careful not to even appear to offend people. Lots of people get really concerned about that.....Hey, I'm just another old f**t who can laugh at himself and can take a joke as well. Relax and enjoy and don't worry about this guy, 42bill :)

It takes a lot of effort to insult me. I blame it on stupidity and cluelessnes on my part. I really don't think any one here intended to offend me. If someone did they'll have to aim lower cause it went right over my head. In retrospect, I was making fun of myself because it had never entered my mind my dues might have needed to be renewed. As soon as I read that I about died. OOPS.

I hate political correctness. It's my belief it will play a roll in the downfall of this country but will never be recognized as such.

Now seein's as to how there's a lot goin on in my life right now and I'm under a lot of stress, someone please insult me so I can be embarrassed again and laugh at myself all over.

Keep on laughin', buddy..........most of the time it's the only way to get through it all!!

AND no G&D yet

Are we sure it's January already?

It does often seem that "laughter is the best medicine."

Good to hear no offense was taken. Seems to me I've made a few similar comments to other guys in here and they're still whining about it.

I guess ya just never know.....

I pick so uch that sometimes when I'm serious people think I'm kidding. Other times when I'm kidding they think I'm serious.

In another forum in the off topic section I commented I may have to build an urn for my girl friend who died on Thanksgiving day. I'm an accomplished wodworker so it's not a problem. At the time though I guess I was kinda depressed and commented that I didn't know whether to be happy or to cry.

The first response was one that was intended to be funny because the responder thought I was kidding.

No, you can pick on me all day long and I won't be offended, or rarely so. Pick away, please. I need the laughter. Laughter is feer, enjoyable, and often long lasting and I'm too poor to afford much more of anything else.

Hey, Your right Guys. Laugh and have fun. laugh Like I said, I forgot to renew my subscription and then quickly sent it in on 1-04-07 and I got my G&D today. crazy Thanks to who ever took care of that at the G&D. Now to ask them about the back issues and if I can get them and how much postage if any. They back dated my subscription to the former date so I kept my old VCCA#. :cool2: Life is great. yay yay yay

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who suffers from CRS. It was only luck on my part that my subscription was still intact. Just as soon as I read that I might have forgotton I almost died from embarrassmen, just knowing I had forgotton. But, such was not the case.

Someone asked napoleon if he'd rather have a lucky army or a well trained one. He said he preferred the lucky one.

Yup. Same idea. However, in the long run it might be better to try and get to be "good." Ya never know how long the "luck" is going to last.....

And when it does.... flush

Some of us run out of luck. Some of us never had any. At least not good luck.

The problem with getting to be good at something is that you have no real excuse when you screw up. crazy
