Hi guys! How about you folks keep us home-bodies updated while you are on the road. I've seen some postings from Ray, but it's in Louis C.'s mice thread. Thanks! Have a great time. RayG

I got a call this (Sunday) morning from one of the Portland guys. Made it in style. No problems. They did encounter heavy rain, thunder storms, etc. in Idaho. Also, they met up with some folks from Seattle someplace along the way. Likely in eastern Oregon or over in Idaho. Apparently a 50 Bel Air from the Seattle area had some problems.
Weather in GJ is good. Warm days. Cool nights. Of course he (the guy who phoned) was excited to see more cars coming in Sunday and Monday. That's about all I recall he said.
Bill.

Thanks for the update Bill. I hope some of the folks out there check in regularly. Hopefully, Mack and Billy Boy will have a laptop at the Chatter table and we can say "howdy" to all that stop by. RayG

Howdy!
Yes, I have TWO labtops here... Only one can get internet connection. I'm posting this note using that one.
The second laptop has a presentation that I'll be giving tomorrow at 1:30 as part of the ongoing set of daytime seminars.
Have been coordinating with Jim Seiber and I hope to be able to post photos here tomorrow.
Hot, hot, hot. Stormy with lightening storms along the horizon. Lot of cool cars though. Have met tons of people including Mr Mack and Erling from Oslo, Norway.
The event has been great and the materials (eg. programs, maps, etc) are excellent. A lot of people have put in a LOT of time and done a GREAT job.
I saw a lot of parts changing hands at the swap meet. It was very, very good.
More tomorrow!!

Guys, You have missed a great meet. With the Anique Mechanic, Mr. Mack, Billy Boy and the rest of us chat guys here in GJ the old dogface will have a free reign. It will be up to you to keep him in check. More reports from the front later.
Actually met BB today for the second time. He was not impressed by I sure was for his contributions to this site and the VCCA.

Yep, the old mutt is having a great time here on Chevy Chatter now that Chip The Dip and the "Wacky One" are tied up in Colorado. By the way, tell Macky Wacky that all of the threads are staying on topic now that he is attending the Anniversary Meet!

Went to the Edmond, Ok, 4th of July parade this morning. It was fun, but could have used some old Chevy's. The Model A "furds" were plentiful. There must have been 40 or 50 of them, and a like number of mustangs. Not one pre-war Chevy and fewer than 2 dozen later model ones, including 12 vettes and about 10 Corvairs. Maybe we can muster a few of our cars and trucks for next year to show the crowd??? 37Blue

Just wait folks the judging is tomorrow. The photos are bound to be of more cars and less rocks. Not that rocks are not interesting. Maybe BB will get a shot of the odometer on the low mileage BG. How bout it BillyBoy?

"Every time we think about you, we almost cry cause you are not here having all this fun!" Hey Wacko Macko: Yep, I wish that I was there having fun with you dudes, but ya know, this old mangy mutt is still having lots of fun back at the old homeland. Today, for the 4th of July, the Dog had a blast. The fun did include old cars, and the fun also incorporated the other two unofficial "aspects" of the hobby......beer and females! The two Junkyard Dogs.....myself and Moron Mikey.....judged all of the cars that were entered in the annual Eagle Point 4th of July car show and parade this morning. It was a nice warm day but not too hot, and the car show really brought out the great looking females and the ice cold beer. Oh man!!! And then, tonight was our annual 4th of July barbecue and even though there were no old cars at this event, the females and the keg beer made up for the lack of old cars. So you see, the old dog is having his share of fun even though he isn't back there in GJ with the gang! All my best to you dudes and don't do anything that the old Bow Wow wouldn't do! Have lots of fun guys!

The pics at GJ are good, obviously an event worth attending. JYD is obviously having fun at his usual mischief. I hope 4th July was happy and safe for all Tony

Great pictures Bill, I even saved one of Kassis' pinstripping.
I don't know about parking that Vette so close to those "balanced rocks". With all the Chevy folks in town things may come a little un-balanced.

Great photos Bill!! Looking forward to more.
In the meantime I'll have a cold one with JYD. I'm getting the 48 Aerosedan ready for a show in Rutland, VT. this weekend.

If nothing else, those who did not come along on the GJ tour missed a great presentation by our leader Bill Barker on the Chat Site. Great job Bill.

If the rocks are a different year than the rest of the landscape, is there a 30 point deduction when the judges look at them?

Bill, as the deputy of the team you were on I would like to say that you all did a wonderfull job! And want to thank-you and all of the judges for spending the time. I too really did not get a chance to view many of the cars. The unknown heros were the guys parking the cars, Bill Lutkowski and his crew got everyone on the field and parked in a very short time. They also had to get there at 5:00 to remark the field. The judging went real smooth! See on the tour! John Mahoney
