If anyone cares I have taken up a new hobby!

MIXED cool cool cool DOUBLES TENNIS.

I'm 65 and all the young kids are in thier 20's and 30's.

I lost my first match today and my partner was about 30 to 35 years.

We lost 4-6 and 4-6. Next time we are going to win if it kills me. This is really great fun and gets the old heart pumping.

Try it, I think you'll like it!

John,
An old friend, now 70, from Marieta GA plays in some senior master tennis circuit or league. He's in great shape - looks years younger. And, a former classmate from grade school and high school, a woman from Reno, plays in the same circuit - doubles. She looks great for her age. After her husband died several years ago, she snagged a 10 to 15 year younger guy and he readily admits that she beats him most of the time...

I guess I'm very fortunate that the joints still work well. The muscles still get sore but the brain comes alive.

I love the competition. In Atlanta we have ALTA,
Atlanta Lawn Tennis Assiciation.

It keeps you alive and wanting to kick A-- or Tires!

Well my second game was rained out.

So in the interm I played senior doubles with a new team.

Went after a wide shot, got it, took a nose dive.
Broke a rib and ripped my right thumb nail loose.

Finished the set. Lost in a tie-breaker.

Damn - I love competition!

Ouch John! I think fitness activities are very important also, but it's probably best to end up in better shape then when you started. I like to bicycle on the Omaha bike trail system about 50 miles every weekend. It's great exercise and I don't get run over by cars.

Fifty miles ever weekend is terrific! You have to build up the calluses before you can do that.

Good work!

The german side of my family tree is in Nebraska.

I'm leaving the good old USA this week but I'll be back.
