Spanky, give me a quick lesson on COE's (I know nothing); this truck has a hood, but it looks like the cab should tilt (maybe?). I thought that all COE's had cabs that tipped forward. I didn't think that they had "hoods", did they?

I like the emblem it looks like almost a bowtie but isn't.

Neat truck.

Yep Gator, the Chevy & GMC COE's '37 - '55 1st series, had hoods & no tilt cab. Engine access was through removable floor panels. The only thing under the hood is the radiator & firewall. From 2nd series '55 - '59, the name changed from COE to LCF (low cab forward) the engines moved more towards the front, but still not a reg. conventional. Engine was accesable from under hood, you still had to remove a small oblong cover from inside the cab to get to the distributor. The G.M. Tilt cab trucks(cabs actually tilted over) came out in 1960.
