Hi Bill Barker,

Got your message on the outage of the 'forum'. Have decided to take your advice and change the air in some of my tires. Do you know if there are any special rules in WA on the disposal of the old air?

I'm not sure about the rules where you are, but here in the northeast we have to keep winter air separate from summer air. I have two special tanks for each brand of car I have just to keep them apart, don't make the mistake of trying to use Ford air in Chevy tires. Of course you can use Chevy air in Ford tires because they will work better, but the air will never be able to go back into Chevy tires again due to contamination.

Good luck, Dan.

chevy chevy Yep.....could not agree more on this topic! As a matter of fact I had an "actual conversation" on this very subject with my Kenworth mechanic today @ 2:23:47. It was an in depth and informative meeting with a lot getting done on this matter. It's even more important as a safety issue on these Tractor Trailer Rigs. Let alone OUR older jalopies. My......what a coincidence this is....a timely subject indeed! Thanks people. chevy chevy Don R. chevy chevy

Here in Oregon the air has to be recycled. The air from each tire has to be evacuated into a special air tank with five compartments, and then reused in the tires again. However, the air removed from one tire cannot be used in another tire on the car......it has to be reintroduced into the same tire that it came out of, thus the five compartments in the recycle tank. And, to further complicate matters, if you have a low tire, city air cannot not be mixed with country air and visa versa. If your tires were originally filled in the city, then the car is not allowed to drive into the rural areas in case of a flat. Also, if a flat is incurred, then the owner of the car is fined for each cubic foot of air that escapes into the atmosphere. When purchasing new tires, once again the same air from each old tire has to be recycled and reused in each corresponding new tire, and the air has to be the exact same temperature in each tire as well or the DEQ will levy a severe fine on the company that sold the new tires. While on the same subject, the DEQ also has tight regulations on "hot air" used by people in corporate management, politicians, lawyers, car salesmen, and U.S. military officers. And you thought that R-12 was considered dangerous to the atmosphere!!

I don't reckon out here in the sticks it effects us much at all, since most of us use propane in our tares, don't have to have lectricity nor an aere-kompressorer, and makes our cars real light on their feet, and if you get cold just run a hose from the spare to the burner in the floor, we thank of everthang....... chevy

Hey Donald! Fill up one of your tires from your '32 Chevy with Budweiser (the car will never be on the road anyway because of all of the problems you are having with the Model T dudes), stick the valve stem in your mouth and then use it for a nursing bottle! Ya! Ha ha! :o :o :o :o :o :o

If you get a blowout in NYS, it is consideresd a HAZMAT area and the DEC must check the air quality. I release all of my old air on the weekends when the DEC guys are off, same when I paint a car, always on the off hours.

That will work, but out here in Oregon we go one better. When painting a car, we deflate all of the tires, and then using a vacuum chamber all of the paint overspray is sucked up and then used to inflate the tires again. That way the government dudes are none the wiser and the paint overspray doesn't get into the atmosphere!!  laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

Kicks4agypse: Eagle Point is located 18 miles north of Medford, Oregon.

Hey Macky Wacky: Ya, our mascot is a duck all right, and his name is "Donald". And, in case you haven't guessed it, he is extremely heavy into that Budweiser stuff! Hum.......maybe I'm thinking about the dude in Washington instead because up there he is known as Donald "The Duck" Boltz, and someone said that he should be a mascot for the Ford club! Wow!

Ya, ducks are really cool and they waddle around.....sort of like old Donald does. But, for Donald to change, he would have to give up the Budweiser and that will never happen. As far as the Model "T" dudes go, they are still screwing up his car as we speak, and old Donald keeps going back for more abuse. Oh well.....he sure has fun with the Budweiser though! Hum.....maybe that's why he does waddle around like a duck??!!! Ya! laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh
