At a car show this weekend I got re-introduced to a gentleman with a 1921 Baby Grand, I am trying to get him to go on line here, both for help and to help others.

He bought the car in Vancouver a few years back, it is a Canadian built car, it was all there and running (only the seat covering needed replacing) he is the 3rd owner. He wants to get information on the car; the AACA didn't have a lot. He said that years ago he was a member of the VCCA but didn't know about Chatter. He has heard that the '21 BG is rather rare and not many out there. (?)

He also has a totally wonderful '28 Chevy Roadster that he had restored, beautiful, beautiful... and he is in the process of restoring a '23 1 ton truck.

What information can I tempt him with about the '21 that will get him to rejoin the fold? Is there a Chatter member with a web site out there with a '21 on it?

A really nice guy too. Gave me some good info on my '32.

Can't help with a website but there are several BG owners that are on this site regularly. I have a '19 that is essentially the same as his '21. Though KK says that mine is acutally a '20 as it was assembled mid-Aug of 1919. Just a little older than my father with Dec '19 bday.

Gator

Take a look at the message 2 before your posting. "BABE GRAND" has a '21.

Thanks Ken, this guy is into all original unless there is no other way to do a car.

Since the '21 is all original except for seat coverings maybe he qualifies for the new class the "HPOCF". (?)

How many BG are in the club?

I have a 1920 Baby Grand that I am restoring that was originally sold here in Australia. I also have a 1920 Royal Mail that is an original old car built in Canada which I imported in Australia around 1996.
I would be very happy to assist the gentleman with any information he requires.

Great, since there aren't that many BG around I would think you guys need to help each other more then the guys with the more modern models.

Thanks again.

I think you should begin your research on the Baby Grand and forerunners by a full review of Ken Kaufmanns web site
http://home.earthlink.net/~scrippsbooth/
and then contact Ken for additional info not yet on line. I have heard that Ken recently made a new aquisition and also that another BG was sold in the disposal of the Gene Fo*rd ( Curses to BB ) collection. I believe this was added to the Meleo Collection.

As Ken is aware of, I also have a "Baby Grand" (1919). If anyone wants to see a picture, e-mail me at maxamjl@nycap.rr.com

Thanks for the help; I had not seen the web site before.

Will spend some time reading it...

Thanks again.
