IT MAKES A PERSON THINK THAT A MEMBERSHIP CARD AND WINDSHIELD STICKER ONLY COSTS $30.00 A YEAR.

Welcome! In the next month you should receive your first issue of the monthly club magazine, the G&D! In it you will find a wide variety of resource including classifieds, news about region activities, etc.

You will also find a listing of all the contact information for every region in the club!

In the meantime, you can go online to http://www.vcca.org to find a region in your area.

I felt the same way when I got my membership package last July. I sent payment for three years in early may and finally got the package the 10th or so of July . Just a membership card, a decal and a nametag. No welcome letter or anything. There was a small pink note that said what not to do concerning classified adds. Then I got my first Generator & Distributor in late August. Just didn't feel very welcome.

Hi and welcome ,I have been a member since 1979 and I live on the other side of the world .Very shortly your name and address will be welcomed aboard in the G&D our club magazine that spans the globe ,So all of us other members will get to see who you are. You will only get out of something what you are prepared to put in to it. From where I stand we get our magazine a number of months behind the rest of you but I still enjoy and look forward to each one .The friendships I have made around the world because of my old chevrolet still amazes me nearly 25 years on. You have made the first move by joining so get out and about and enjoy!

I agree that a welcome letter would have been nice when I received my registration card when I joined 5 years ago. However, since we are a group of volunteers, it was not that important.
Yes, the G&D is worth waiting for each month.
Once you get your first copy, and start to get involved with the club, I hope your outlook improves.

This may sound a little silly, but I was thinking about this a year ago... with regards to this site. It seemed to me that when you register, you should get a "welcome message" from VCCA. So about a year ago, I added one to our Discussion Board - Chevy Chatter.

This was my way of trying to add a bit of the "personal touch" after someone goes to the effort to see what we have here. So, HuffNeff , and any others, I just want you to know that some of us think about things like this and, to the best of our ability, do make sure that people are welcomed in a timely manner. I don't have control over the rest of the VCCA registration process, but I've certainly tried to make you-all feel welcome here at the Chatter site. And as Greg72Monte said, we are all volunteers and don't get paid for this.

In closing, if you feel better after hanging around here for a while, I'd certainly encourage you to "volunteer" and help support some effort or another, of the club. You've already identified one area that could use a little help. I noticed that the awards area is also seeking additional help in another threaded discussion. There are lots of places where we could use a helping hand.

Welcome, welcome and welcome. Apologies for any unintentional slights, but we've all been there, and amazingly after 5 or 10 or 20 or even 30 years, most of us are still here... By golly, there must be a reason why!!! Please don't judge us in the first few minutes, days or weeks. As OzJim said, it's well worth the wait. Again, welcome! Volunteers please form up on the right side!

I have found that the more I put in to the VCCA, the more I get out of it. Since I am not a computer guru, I have been judging at every VCCA meet I attend, 2-3 per year. This is a great opportunity to learn about other cars.

Huffneff, the best thing I can tell you is locate a region near you , contact the person listed in the G&D, usually the Director and find out when the next meeting is (Christmass partys usually aren't a business meeting) and go a little early, drive your old chevy and jump right in! We aren't too much into a welcomeing group, but that "new" old Chevy will turn on a light!

Or , according to my copy of G&D you could show up this Saturday , 7:00 PM at the First Bank of Gladstone, just north of K.C. Or call 913-334-7052 just to make sure. Mr Mack is correct, the 28 Chevy will keep the conversation going for hours.
