I think I would like to do the interior of my '32 myself. I have never done this before, but it looks fairly simple (?).

All the help and advice you have will be welcomed. yipp

Facts:
1. '32
2. cabriolet
3. spare in the rear, so I think this would be a standard not a deluxe model.
4. no ash tray in doors.

Do you need any other facts about the car?

Is this doable by a novice? Where do I get the material?

Hey Gator!

You can get the complete genuine leather interior from Hampton Coach in Amesbury, Massachusetts. They advertise in the G&D and they have a quality interior for your car, and you can put it in yourself. They also sell the top as well, but I would suggest getting an expert to put the top on for you.

By the way, your cabriolet should have an ash tray in the passenger side door.  laugh laugh laugh

The pass. side door had been redone by someone before me. Maybe they just covered it over? The material is different.

I had a professional redo the top last year with a Hamption kit, came out great.

I have read that there wasn't any boot to cover the top when it was down. Is this true? I have a boot but I don't know if it is correct for '32. When I tried to drive without a boot the top wanted to be a sail.

Was it real leather inside? or fake leather?

Hey Gator! Anyway, yes, there was a top boot for your '32 cabriolet. You need one, because without it the top will tend to sail in the down position while you are driving.......as you already found out.

The front seat was genuine leather and the door panels were imitation leather. Check your passenger side door panel. Either they covered up the ash tray container or they removed it. If they removed it, you will probably still see the hole in the wood panel where the ash tray was.

Thanks, I checked my Hampton catalog last night and found the kits. No prices listed in the catalog, I guess they don't want people to have heartattacks.

JYD, I am guessing the car on the cover of their catalog is just about your favorite, a 1941 Chevy Cabriolet. auto :cool2: ok
