I recently got my truck running and on the road but I’m looking for a little more pep. The gear ratios seem a big low. I have to shift out of 1st gear once I start rolling, 2nd gear is similar and 3rd actually have some speed. I can only get up to 30mph max in 4th gear.
Is there something I can adjust?

That gearing is essential to move 1 1/2 tons.

First gear is not generally used except loaded climbing mountains or being stopped on a grade. Your experience is typical but it appears to be being babied. Speeds depend on the rear wheel circumference and how comfortable you are with the shakes and noises. Many of routinely drive the 1 1/2 ton trucks in the 45 mph range.
