Does anyone know what the maximum wear thickness on the clutch disc would be for a 9" disc? The best I can tell, I have about 0.11 inch remaining on each side. There seems to be a good amount left before the rivets would be a problem. I appreciate all the help.

Hello Bama31,
Cannot answer your question about maximum wear thickness tolerance. Looking at oldsobsolete.com, replacement linings for 9in. 1931 clutch disc measure 1/8in. per side. That's 0.125 inch on each side new. With 0.11 inch remaining on each side means that 0.015 has worn each side, for a total of 0.030 wear. If able, measure to rivets to know what's left. Amount of use is a factor concerning wear. Are you having issues with the clutch assembly?

Thanks Harrys31coach. No issues yet, as I have not put everything back together. The car has sat for 40 some years without being driven, so I am taking most of what I can apart, inspecting, replacing or repairing if necessary, and re-assembling. At this point with it all apart, I think I will just replace the clutch disk with a new one. Thanks again.
