I have just purchased a Canadian rolling chasse that has some of the parts for a power clutch. Does anyone have information on the clutch or parts. The Chevrolet Repair Manual for General Motors of Canada has several pages on how it work and adjustments.

Was this an accessory that preceded the availability of a vacuum gearshift in the early '40's?

Not realy, Was used on Chrysler products and some of the independent makes mainly in 1932 and 1933. It eleminated the need for the driver to use the clutch under most conditions. The pedal rose as the vacuum dropped such as starting off and pausing to shift.
