Does anyone know of a couple of good front fenders? Originals look as though they have been repaired behind the wheels numerous times over the years-any help appreciated!

I agree that the 1947 fenders are the same as 1948 fenders. The 1946 fenders are a little different due to the grille and parking light mounting differences, so the '46 fenders are a one year only. I've heard that you can make a 47/48 fender work on a '46, but have no experience with that myself. And yes, no differences based on passenger car body styles.

Sorry, I read the post wrong. Yes, 1947-48 fenders will work with slight canges around the parking lights.
