I may not be able to rebuild my original 216 in my 38 Chevy pickup. I have access to a 235 and I’ve been told they are very similar. Does anyone know if the motor mounts, clutch and transmission would bolt up the same? Thanks.

It can be done with attention to details. It is not a bolt-in swap. A big factor is what year 235. The original 235’s were based on the 216 block and used in trucks. Later 235’s were a different block.
Do your research to determine what special and additional parts you will need.

Go the the Stovebolt.com. They have an extensive tech tip on how to do it. It is very doable. I rebuilt my 216s because I wanted to keep them.
My 1951 1 Ton is now on the road! My 38 Master 4 Door is also now on the road .
