I’m new to the world of Chevs.
I’ve just acquired a semi restored 1928 roadster and am trying to work out what bits go where.
I really need advice on how the rear quarter panel is finished off to the rear (trunk) panel.
Both panels are nailed to the wooden subframe, but there needs to finishing strip to cover the gap.
All advice and photos appreciated.

Hi John,

I would highly recommend getting a copy of the Fisher Body Repair manual for these cars:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1926-1927-...vice-Shop-Manual-Chevrolet-/353342882142

Based on your description, it sounds like the trim you are needing was a ~3/4" wide aluminum piece that was nailed down between the two panels to finish it off. Others in the form may have a good source for these, I ended up using a modern plastic trim piece with a similar profile, bedded it in epoxy and nailed it down.

Hi Tyler, Thanks...I’ll have a look around. Mine is an Australian body by Holden. I presume they used the same methods as Fisher.... Cheers John
