So were there different distributers in 1925 for the back of the generator or was one modified to fit the back of my generator. I think mine has the newer and much less costly points,rotor and cap as opposed to the one on the left that should be stock

The one on the left is the correct 1925 distributor. The one on the right appears to be a later model.

There was only one correct distributor.

The distributor on the back of the generator is probably a DELCO-REMY Model 635-B,which only has 20 degrees of centrifugal spark advance,compared to the original REMY distributor,which has approximately 30 degrees of full manual advance.A better way to go would be to adapt a REMY Model 374-A distributor,which has a cast iron body,takes the same rotor button,cap & points,and has a full manual advance range of 30 degrees.
