I just bought a SBC powered Austin Healey in need of full restoration. From the casting number on the left rear side of the block, B720991, I'm guessing 55-56 265 with two bolt mains. Serial number on right front of block is 042978IF56GS. Heads have a rectangle with a single triangular point on top. 4 bbl. Holly on cast iron manifold, generator with tach drive on rear. (the bracket holding the generator is very home-made + steel valve covers, so I'm not daring think Corvette. From casting numbers on the case, I appear to have a Muncie 4 speed gearbox. My plan is to switch to SBF with T5 as it's a bit skinnier than the Chevy and distributor is in the front. Wondering if the engine is worth something to someone. Looks possible per eBay, likewise the generator and transmission.
Car also came with bucket seats in decent shape seller advised were early Corvette, but I'm doubtful as they have headrests. Good looking seats though and I'd post a picture if I could figure that out.
Thanks in advance for any and all advice,
Craig
