Since I am not smart enough to do a search on the best way of checking the timing on my car, can someone help me with doing a search on this? Thanks in advance. Shorty

The short timing process is to set the timing to the fastest slow idle and smooth acceleration. Note if any spark knock or starter kickback and retard to eliminate or reduce them.

Chipper. Careful with the word "retard." Similarly, you may have heard about the teacher who was sued by husband and wife lawyers-parents who upon asking why their daughter didn't get on the school bus for home , was told by the teacher that perhaps she may have just been "slow." Look it up. Best, Charlie

While I think "retard", I would utter "disadvance" or "unadvance" instead. I know. New words but safer. Maybe "retreat" would work too. No new word and is the opposite of advance to us military minded old farts. The U.S. Army even has a bugle call for it. Best, Charlie
