can someone advise if whole cluste has to cpme out to take out the oil gage??

It is not necessary to remove the cluster. The oil gauge is held to the cluster mounting plate with two small screws. Remove the oil line and then the two screws from the back and the gauge will be free.

below is a picture of the back of my 1929 dash. the 1930 is similar in concept.

a few screws (wingnuts in picture) hold face plate to dash, few screws hold each instrument to the face plate.

Bear, I notice that you have a ground wire from the top screw over the ammeter. I am wondering if I should do this. Where does it go to?

i believe that is the ground for the signal box i installed.
