The information on the 83 Quality Features can be found in my article on page 15 of the November 2013 G&D. Anyone who has either a 1925 or 26 should make an attempt to secure a copy of that G&D.
That G&D may have more info on the 1925-26 than any other month/year. It also has extensive info about the 1927, 28, 29, 30,and 1931. It is definitely a keeper.
Captain D - I don't think the 83 Quality Features theme came out in 1925. My 8x11 foldout was printed in November 1926. Some of the features refer to the differences, but not all are between 1925 and 1926. Some of the 83 examples were, 2 inch brake bands, air cleaner, oil pump in pan, 3 point motor suspension, foot rest in sedan and landau, all of which were not offered in 1925. Interesting to note the 1926 models pictured show no door handles on the open cars.
In another post you were asking about the frame. The 1925 frame is one of a kind. The 1924 frame has mounts for the quarter elliptical springs, while the 1925-26 frame has semi elliptical springs, where the front of the frame extends forward of the front axle. Also the main difference between 1925 and 1926 frames are the way the front of the motor mounts. The 1925 frame has an extra forged cross member that the motor mounts to two points. The front of the 1926 motor mounts to the same front cross member as the radiator using a bracket between the motor and the cross member.
My frame has yellow stenciled lettering on the inside of the frame, directly outboard of the battery box, which includes the date 10/7/25, which would correspond with the assembly date of mid November.
Rob here are some scans of the 83 features. The brochure is too large for me to scan in full so I scanned the section that listed all the features. It folds out with one side showing photos of up grades. One photo is an advertisement from a magazine and the last one is a dealer brochure of the original Superior model in 1923. I hope this helps. Thanks Steve, Ebay denied me access to their site because my computer is using a foreign internet service. I'm deployed to Italy with the military and there is some type of firewall that prevents me from using Ebay. It's just one more hassle of being deployed.
