G'Day, I have a large hard cover book showing the 1925 Chevrolet in production. The pages are not numbered (except with a crayon by someone) and show various parts of the car in production, including the workers and the machinery being used. The book is not titled, and has no information indicating printing dates, location of printing or GM ownership. Pretty much each page contains a captioned photo describing what is taking place. Anyone familiar with this book ? Thanks for your time and attention...………..Joe.
I have not seen that book, but I do have a set of charts which tells the story as does your book. I would be interested in a picture or two from your book to compare to my charts.
You can email the pictures to me @ chev33radio@comcast.net

Ray I've mailed a thumb drive with all the photos. (28 January 2020). I'm posting it here so anyone who cares to follow this thread will know that we have communicated, and you apparently have many of the same images that are contained in my book. When you receive and review it, I would appreciate knowing how, when and where you acquired your images, and what format they are in. Thanks...……...Joe.
I just dropped off at the Post Office a chip with the pictures of the 24 posters I have. I am anxious to see the thumb drive and see what the extra pictures are that I am missing. There is no way to know if I have a complete set or not.
Thanks Ray. It should be interesting. I wish there were a convenient way to share the photos with other interested parties. I am very glad to have the book because of my Grandfather's 25 Sedan, (in the family since 1927) but the book would not stand up to constant opening and closing. That is one of the reasons I had the photos taken. Unfortunately they show up much better in the book then on these small screens.
Does your book contain a picture of the interior of a 25 Sedan so that I could get an idea of the type of fabric used? Does your Grandfather's 25 sedan have it's original interior?
Received the "thumb drive" today. I didn't sit down and compare picture to picture, but noted that your book has more pictures than I have posters, but also noted that I have some that the book does not have?

I too have original interior, sans headliner, I can provide pics too.

I will be curious to see those photos Ray. With regards to the interior upholstery description question. I don't think any of the photos would be suitable. Most of the photos pertain to the manufacture of individual parts. The actual assembly of the body are photos taken while the vehicles are on the assembly line. Unless Ray's posters contain those shots (?). My cars upholstery was already replaced by non-professionals long before I came to work on the car. It has since been done on a grey pin striped mohair which is not likely to be original.
Could you supply pictures on this thread so that others besides myself can use them? I addition to the type of fabric on the seat I'm also interested on the seat frame. Is it painted black or is it covered? Is the fabric for the seat the same as the fabric for the door panels and headliner?
I got your photos today Ray. Thanks Much. I saw one or two of our photos posted for sale on EBAY probably 5 years ago. I contacted the vendor but he had no knowledge of their origin. I will leave the CAPTAIN's request for the photos posted to this site for you Ray. You are far better equipped for that kind of posting than I am. ...TKS...…...Joe.
I have a 25 sedan and a previous owner attempted a restoration and my entire interior is green burlap. I would appreciate any pictures you can send. I am interested in the fabric used (seats, door panels and headliner). Is the fabric different between the seats / door panels / headliner? What is a "sans" headliner? My email address is rob.damiata@gmail.com if you want to send it to me direct instead of posting it here.
Rob, I looked last night and wasn't really happy with the pics that I had previously taken of the interior. I'll take some more tonight and try to post them for you. The headliner was missing when I purchased my sedan. My uncle said that me and my cousins tore it down years ago, i remember playing in the car when I was a kid, but i don't remember tearing anything up , had I known that I would own it one day I would certainly have taken better care of it I'll try to post some pics this evening.

Rob = My '25 sedan seat cushions are different material than the rest of the interior. Although the headliner was missing, I believe the door panels, front seat back, regulator board and headliner were all the same material on my sedan, which I believe has not been replaced since it was assembled in Janesville, Wisconsin in mid November 1925.
Photos of a local sedan that I believe has the original upholstery, which was assembled in Oakland, California shows another material combination, unlike my sedan. The seat cushions are identical, but the door panels, seatback and regulator board are a similar pattern at the seat cushions. Maybe different assembly plants used dissimilar materials" More examples need to be compared. Maybe Jeff's sedan can shed some light on what was original.
Rob, Here are some closeups of my interior. I have seen Roger's interior and his along with the pics in the Photobucket links above match my material almost exactly. My sedan has the same setup as Roger's. The plaid design is on the seats only, the smooth tan material is on the door panels, front seat back, regulator board and I believe the headliner, although I only had small fragments of headliner. I have high confidence that this was the original upholstery material.
Can't explain why the Oakland sedan would have the plaid material on seat backs, regulator and door panels, but that's not the way mine is nor does it sound like the way Roger's is either.
Image 3 is the back of the front seat Image 4 is the front seat where it wraps around to the front door, it is the only place where the two materials come together. Image 6 is the regulator cover Image 7 is the best representation of the color of the non-plaid material, the other pics seem to show it with too much of a redish tint

Have you guys found a match and source for the original checkered fabric? This is the closest I've ever seen to my 1938 Canadian Pontiac. It has this material on all fabric surfaces except headliner.

I haven't seen this book myself, but talking to Joe the other day inspired me to think about making a book of mine available to anyone interested. The book is called A Ride In A Chevrolet. It is 12 x 9.5, 65 pages, printed in 1925. Does anyone have one like it? Did they make these for other years?
Those Dealer Albums were used by salesmen to illustrate the major selling points for a given year. Some were contained in a special pouch so they could be taken to a prospects home and sell them a new Chevy.
I don't know when they were first available but they went well into the 70s
I would not call the Factory Photo Books "Dealer's Albums". From 1925 to the late 30's the "Sales Data Books" were the tool used by the salesmen, along with the set of film strips for the year, in fact a small projector with a small selection of film strips were also used. (I have those projectors and many of the film strips) The "Dealer's Albums" started in the late 30s. I have every Data Book from 1925 through the "Dealer's Albums" up to the 70s. For many years an "Engineering Features" book was also available. I also have all of those.
