A syncro 1932 transmission could be installed with other changes.

The 1932-36 syncro. transmissions didn't require double clutching but could not be shifted as fast as the 1937 and up.

chevgene: what i was hoping to do was use the original 31 trans case with later model gears and or synchros. got a couple of 37 up trannys laying around and before tearing the 31 and the 37 apart, just wondered if anyone has tried it. thanks, mike

In over 30 years.... I've never heard of anyone trying to do this. You're largely on your own. But some of use would sure be interested in knowing how you make out!!

Suggest contacting Larry Jackson, Santa Maria, CA. He is the guy that has the most experience messing with the internals of early 30s transmissions. He is the guy that advertises the 3.50 gears in the G&D.
