Can someone please tell me what year this tail light is for? Unlike the round opening for the license plate light, as the 1934, it has a rectangular opening.

Its an EVELITE or other name aftermarket replacement tail light pot, see them all the time on ebay. The round bulb hole with rubber washer is original.

The FENDER MOUNT tail light arm was not used on 35 std bodys. These were used on 33 std 33 master, 34 master and 34 standard. 1935 std used a bumper tail lighjt arm as the actual body was 2" longer.

EVELITE is a genuine GM Guide trademark. Some aftermarket lamps were EVERLITE and KYLITE. I'm sure there were others. Mike is correct that your lamp is an aftermarket, not Genuine Chevrolet.
The tail lamps were mounted on the fenders of '35 Standard coupes and roadsters for U.S. produced cars. The bumper mount was used on 2 and 4 door models.
The bracket pictured is a Chevrolet item and would be correct for the factory mounted LH lamp on '34 and '35 Standard coupes and roadsters, as well as other '34 and '33 styles.

also used on 34-35 phaetons . I have a 35 coupe , 35 roadster and 35 phaeton, they all have the fender mount tail light arm.

Could not remember the KYLITE name, but I think I have a tail light pot stamped with that name and the EVELITE also.

Mike,
Did you get the distinction between evelite and everlite? Evelite is genuine GM.

35 Mike are you possibly referring to "Chevlite" which is what is on my 32 tailight? I have never heard of or seen anything marked "Evelite".

Bill,

If you are looking for an original tail light I have an OEM oval with a glass bow tie lens in pristine condition left from my '36 PU restoration. I saved it as a spare and it's been in dry storage for about 45 years.

Bill,

I'd be glad to do that but I would need your email address. It may be on your profile but heathens like me who are not VCCA members can't look at profiles.

Steve,
Here are some pics.
This one of a pair of buckets I am converting to LED. I welded up the hole in a KYLITE for the right side, but I am not sure I will be able to make the real lens and rim fit properly. I should have addressed that before I closed up the hole.
