I picked this up off Ebay a few years ago with the seller claiming it was from a 37 GMC truck,I never known a p/u having one so could it be from a panel. I am going to redo the interior in my 37 and will try to see if I can get it to fit.it does have the remains of a brown wrinkle finish paint on the bezel like the 37 is supposed to have in the interior.

My 38 had the remains of a cab light that looked similar to that though I dont remember where the switch was located.

Jeff, here is a picture of a dome light in a 1936 GMC pickup, it was part of the deluxe cab trim that included a review mirror, driver side arm rest, a chrome windshield frame and a dome light.

I have a aftermarket fiberglass headliner board and after removing it there is not enough room to mount this light where I would like it,I had to remove the center brace to get it to fit so to find a plan B.

You can restore cloth covered wire by painting with a brush clear coat polyurethane over the cloth. It keeps the cloth from coming off. Polyurethane over bare wire will insulate the wire from grounding out. Place 3 coats over the area.

I gave up on the idea of a dome light.
