Am restoring my window regulators for my 50 Fleetline. Anybody used the plastic rollers and new rivets I see for sale on e-bay and other sources? My originals have a felt/rubber pair of washers and am going to replace them. Looks like the plastic ones might have been a GM replacement/repair item. Any info would be great.

Hi John,

This old post should be helpful with replacing your rollers with plastic ones. I will repost the pictures tomorrow got a high school football game to go to later today. 1941 - 48 Window Regulator - Rebuild

P.S. Yesterday when I posted this link the pictures hosted by PhotoBucket would not load. Today all the pictures are loading from PhotoBucket. If anyone accessing this post can not see the pictures let me know and I will repost the article using OUR Attachment Manager.

Chevrolet did not sell replacement rollers. They almost never gave trouble when new and sold only the complete regulator for service replacement.

Thanks for the replies. That is what I am going to do to mine. I will be sure to get the right size rollers as I didn't know there was a difference. Looks pretty straight forward. As for rivets I use Dee Zee Rivets. They have about any rivet I've seen and the tools to install them. Good to deal with too. Thanks again.

The rollers (plastic part) are the same. The rivets are the same except the flair end, one fits a 1/4" hole and one fits a 5/16" hole.

ruscar is correct. I just did my 50 coupe and originally had the plastic rollers and rivets from the Car Shop in Concord N.C. The rivets they gave me were not the right ones. Ended up getting the correct ones that is linked above from the Filling Station.
I squeezed mine in the vice and man do they look just like the original I took out. Just saying.....

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hubcap than ride in a Ferd.
