Hello all, just trying to gather some info. What is the correct color for a 37 banjo horn button? I know what a 38 is suppose to look like but for 37 not to sure. I have seen them the same as 38, I have seen them a speckled and I have seen them black. Which one is it or are they all correct?

The 1937 accessory manual describes it as " A large brown horn button "............. The picture in the accessory book shoes it in the same mottled color as te rim of the steering wheel with a round emblem in the center.

That’s what I would call the speckled or as Gene referenced to as the brown mottled finish. Is this the correct and only color for the 1937 banjo wheel?

I'm very sure that was the only horn button available for the banjo wheel and that the one in the posted pics is correct for '37.
There was another accessory horn button available for the standard steering wheel, but not the banjo wheel.

Nice looking horn button Bob! How did you get it to stay so close to the spokes?? Even with a new rubber on mine, it wants to rise up a good 1/4" or more off the spokes. Any ideas on how to get it closer the spokes? Thanks, Joe. _________________ joe's37

Thanks for the compliment, Joe.
Wish I could take credit for some miracle installation, but the truth is, I didn't do anything special,to the horn button, I just replaced the old rubber boot with a new one from Lynn Steel Rubber, which was a perfect fit.

Thanks for the reply, Bob.
Maybe i'll have to give Steel a try on that rubber boot. The one i have now is from COTF'S, it shouldn't sit this high off the wheel. Wish i could send a picture but don't know how to transfer to here!! Thanks agin Bob, Joe.

Joe's 37 you might want to check your boot to see if there are any mfg names or identification on it. I doubt COTF'S makes theirs and it's possible you already have one from Steel. I have purchased rubber products from various vendors and sometimes the item was made by Steel.

Hi Steve, I've got the rubber right hear in front of me and both the wife and I can't see any name on it! No big thing, I was just curious. But I'll have to confess, when I first got this horn button, it looked like an elephant had stepped on it. But through carefull use of a heat gun and a pipe coupling I was able to "almost"get it back to where it should be. That's probably why it sets a little higher. Thanks Steve, Joe.
