Today I took two oil distributors apart that had been on different '32 blocks. One was assembled correctly, but did not have a gasket under the valve. The other had the valve in backwards, no spring between the valve and the brass fitting going to the oil pressure gauge, and no gasket under the valve.

A '34 shop manual showed me the correct installation of the parts.

What is the correct material for the internal gasket under the valve?

Are those gaskets available?

If not, would an o-ring that fits down in there be functional?

Thanks. Tom

My oil distributor valve used a small paper gasket. If you can find a new old stock valve it should come with a paper gasket.....mind did.
