Anyone experiment with a larger diameter tire to slow the engine a bit? My 35 has a 5.25 on the stock 17" wheel.
Appears to be only 28" tall.
Planning for a set of driving tires and stock for looking original.

There are not many choices for 17" tires. I just bought a set from Coker for my '35 Standard but I do not have them mounted. I need to blast and powder coat my wheels first.

5.25 tires were original for a Standard but have not been made since 1942 when they were replaced by the larger 5.50 that came on a Master.
The Standard had a very narrow 3.25 rim and any thing wider than a 5.50 tire would cause prooblems. The next wider tire would be a 6.00 and would be way too wide. The Master rim was 3.62" and a 6.00 is the max. width for that rim.
