Can you describe what these bumpers look like? I am restoring a ”˜46, which is the same design and I am unaware of any bumpers on the seat back or bottom.
....at the bottom of this page it says "protects rear of cab from upper seat frame. I do not know where they attach just adding some info. Perhaps they attach to the back of the cab. Can you see a screw hold or something on the a cab brace?? .
Ok, I think I might know, now. These attach to the back of the cab near the top of the seat back and near the attachment points. The pads are about 2” long by about 3/4”x 1”. There is a sheet metal extended lip at the inside section of the belt line. The pads attached to the top of that lip. I will try to get time today to find the photos I took of these here.
Here are the bumpers on my 46. DS is drivers side. PS is passenger side. They look like they are riveted to the back brace that goes across the back of the cab.

The truck seat lower cushion rests on four fastened rails spaced evenly and spanning the seat riser from forward to aft. The two outboard rails have a somewhat conical shaped pin about 1/4” diameter and 1/2” high. Those pins catch to corresponding holes in those outboard rails. The rails have, in tandem, holes which allow the seat cushion to be lifted and adjusted for “comfort”. A very basic design and better than the earlier trucks, at least ”˜37’s, but still limited in usefulness for probably most anyone taller than 6 feet.
