Can anyone tell me who makes the reproduction battery tray with the protective stone guard on front for the 1934 car?

Bill, check ammuscle on eBay. They have a battery tray for a 34 for $104. It may be what you are looking for.

Bill,

I looked at the battery tray CHC suggested and it is almost exactly like the one in my '36 pickup. When I did my restoration over 40 years ago I found that it was easily fabricated from sheet metal. The corrugations are easily made by placing a piece of angle iron on one side of the sheet metal and a piece of round bar on the other and squeezing them together in a vise. That home made part is still functioning perfectly. This is an example of what I was referring to a few days ago when I wrote:

"the car hobby has been taken over by "investors" who have displaced the grease under the nails motor heads of yesteryear."

The topic had wandered onto how expensive parts have gotten and the reason(s). Defeating those high prices is as simple as fabricating simple parts like this as home. That suggestion is offered in a constructive spirit.

Thanks for the responses, guys. I have looked at the one on ebay, and it does look very much like the original in my car. I have sent several messages to the seller through ebay, but the seller does not respond. A friend is looking for one, and I wanted to confirm the dimensions on the one for sale before I recommend it. My friend has a 1934 Master, and the parts book lists one part number (379042) that fits '34-'35, DA and EC.

I purchased one recently from ammuscle. Boy was I surprised how close to exact it is. The drain holes were smaller than the ones on the original so I drilled them to size and it looks original.

Thank you, CarDC. I see the buy-it-now price on ebay is now $135.

Interesting I paid $100.00 + $15.00 for the ride about 6 months ago. Although.... I am willing to pay for good stuff. I have several times been disappointed with reproduction pieces.
