I am not opposed to this new format but it seems I have more trouble finding or posting what I want. Is it just my age and problems adapting or is anyone else having these problems??

I'm not a great fan of the "upgrade". I feel it's a step backwards since we lost some functionality. It's supposed to make it more "mobile friendly" but doing so made it less desktop friendly. The only mobile device I have isn't internet compatible so no benefit for me.

We here in PA the area I live in has no cell phone service you need to drive several miles to get it.

Other than the PM Email problem I haven't had any problems. Would like the header with "CHEVY CHATTER" back.

It is not an "upgrade" as far as I am concerned.
No emails to advise of a PM means I have to log in every time I take a look at the forum.
Rearrangement of thread headers does not seem logical to me.

I agree. This used to be "Chevy Chatter" and it has been since 2001. Now the site is basically non-descript. Also, I'm beginning to wonder if the PM email thing will ever get fixed.

I prefer post #825. I'd put the Chevy Chatter straight across the top or bottom and add the "Preservation and Restoration" tag somewhere

I like the format of post# 404826 with the VCCA Logo prominent. Should say CHEVY CHATTER and the photos changed on a regular basis. I think it's important that the site is recognized as The Vintage Chevrolet Club of America and Chatter a part of it.

Just the ability to actually attach a picture to a thread is a massive improvement over the old version. No more frustrating broken links or crappy hosting sites. My flashing envelope works so no email for a private message is tolerable for the time being

I would like the FORUMS arranged by usage or importance. I don't like scanning down through forums I don't use regularly nor do others. It makes sense to Start with General Discussion to make things easier on first time users but from there I would do Technical Prewar, Technical Postwar, Technical General, Classified Ads, Meets Tours & Events, Photos Member Vehicles, and lastly Members Only. I also agree with Bill Barker's and Steve's comments.

What ever happened to all the advertiser ads? They would help break up some of the sterile-ness of the current layout. I do really like how easy it is to post pictures. No need to use a host site.

Thanks, Mike

I always just look at "Active Threads" as it shows anything that has changed since I last looked at the forum and provides a similar feel to what you might be looking for Mike.

Mike Buller made a good suggestion but who decides the "most important"? The "most frequent" could well be decided by reader view counter which is probably built into the software. With these comments in mind I was quite happy with the immediate previous set out.
As for the top banner it could be jazzed up a bit with appropriate pics of all models on a rotation basis but not high on the importance list for me as it is only seen when I first get the the forum.

I have a small problem with the new site. My problem is that I use a lap top to view the site and it is hard to tell which threads are new. The use of the club Logo from a dark blue to light blue it is hard to see. It depends on the screen angle.

I agree. There must be a better method of marking threads.

Same for me. Could we change the unread ones to a markedly different color or something or put highlighting in yellow behind them?

Does the little red flag "NEW" next to the date help? Probably not as after posting the flag disappears and my new post is not marked.

And, I have found that the "NEW" icon only stays a few hours and then it disappears. Also, I have found that some of the new posts don't have the "NEW" icon while other new posts do. Like most sites, this forum needs constant maintenance and BBB used to spend a great deal of time here fixing issues, rotating the header on a regular basis, and doing the maintenance needed.

It appears the red "NEW" icon stays there until that post is opened. I just now open a post with a date in Feb. The red "New" was there. I went back to that post a little later and it was gone which expected as I had opened it earlier. That's the way it works for me. I can't speak for others.
If you reply to a post and then your new reply does not show up with the red "New" it may be that way on your screen only since you are already on that forum. It most likely would show up on others until they open that forum. Just a guess on my part.
