My switch is a little funky. It could use replacement, but I don't see one listed at the Filing station.

Are these made, or do i need to search for NOS switch?

Is the Roadster pop out switch the same as any other 1933 Chev?

There were two types of electrolocks used in 1933....the early type and the late type. Both were used on all 1933 passenger cars.

Mine has the pop out button. Does that tell you anything?

Yep.....that tells me that you have the early electrolock for 1933. The early 1933 electrolock was a "pop-out" and the late 1933 electrolock was an "off-on".

From my observations it seems that the Eagle had the "pop-out" & the Master had the "on-off" switch. The Standards however had "pop-outs". I don't know if there's been any research on that subject....Joe

The information that I have indicates that the "pop-out" electrolock was used on all early 1933 model vehicles, and then later in 1933 the "off-on" electrolock, which was then used on all model vehicles, replaced the "pop-out" electrolock. The "pop-out" electrolock and the "off-on" electrolock both had different part numbers as well.

In the March/April owners manual for the Standards it gives instructions to usage of the switch & it being a pop out design. I've read the same things you have in the parts catalogs. I know my Standard had a pop out & know of others that are or were the same. Sorry, Joe

As I understand it, sometime in mid year the "pop-out" electrolock was replaced with the "off-on" electrolock. Don't know the exact month though.

I would like to find a newer owners manual to see when they changed on the standard. Mine was built in February. Might not be a good sample. 16th sports coupe from Oakland...Joe

You have an early car so it should have the "pop-out" electrolock. Apparently cars built much later in the 1933 model year went to the "off-on" electrolock.
