I am having a problem fitting in the apron between the front fenders, in the FRONT TO BACK DIRECTION. to START, I will put this as simple as I can. The position of the radiator does not allow me enough room to get the apron in place. I can tell from the pictures from 4 years ago that initially the radiator was about 1" farther back. Now, the radiator is in conflict with the fan blade.

You may recalL from my previous posts that we had to d1)pull the engine once then 2)pull the trans. to make other repairs. EVIDENTLY, as a result, something is farther forward than in the beginning.
ANY IDEAS??

I will start here with this info then build on it. Thanks.

For better results you should post your question in the 1929-32 forum.

Some pictures would sure help. Specifically, a look at pictures of the rear engine mounts, the radiator attachment to the frame front cross member, and the radiator to cross member junction from the front along with a picture of the water pump and fan blades might enable us to help you figure out what's wrong.

It would be very difficult to have mounted the engine in the wrong position, so I would suspect something is wrong with the radiator positioning. Does the hood still fit correctly where it mates up to the cowl at the rear and to the radiator shell at the front?

Thanks for the suggestions, Chip.
1)the mechanic who helped 16 mos. ago also thought it would be difficult to mount the engine "differently". 2)I can see from my photos that the original location of the rad. assembly, after the new core was put in, 4 years ago, is farther back. thus something is different.
After that we had to pull the engine to replace the flywheel. But at that time, EVERYTHING was put back to the original location as the transmission WAS NOT PULLED.
I HAVE TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO POST PICTURES. I don't remember, if i ever knew.

Just trying to think of something else.

Is the radiator core the same thickness as the original? If thicker it will move the radiator forward to get enough gap between the core and fan.

Is the water pump pulley correct? If it is thicker or the shaft longer it will move the fan further forward.
