Does anyone have a source for under running board antenna for a 35 sport coupe?

I have all the other components but not the antenna.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I saw one on Ebay a while ago for something around $1800. I didn't realize that they were made of gold.

I have a set that should be for a 1938 so not sure how much they varied other than length.

They look VERY easy to reproduce. They are basically flat steel banding like you'd find on an industrial pallet with a rubber insulator on each end, with some wiring of course.

I'm close to digging out my radio stuff so should be able to get you some pictures if you can confirm whether yours would be similar to a '38.

I have a complete set of under running board antennas but not sure what they fit.
I also have one side that came off of a 39.

It would be really nice to see pictures of one of these contraptions.

Dwayne,
Do you have the brackets that attach to the front running board bracket and between the rear fender and running board that the antenna hooks to?

Here's a few pics of the original running board antenna on my '37 Sports Coupe:

Bowtie Bob,

Thanks for posting the photos. No my car doesn't have brackets.

Total distance between brackets is about 44". Iam sure Bow tie Bob could verify that number.

Thanks for those pictures. That's interesting to see. Mine look the same but don't recall the brackets in my tub of parts. The antenna is lower than I expected as I'd always pictured it to be tucked up tighter - I can see why these worked well.

So the front antenna bracket is clearly attached to the front runningboard bracket. Is the rear antenna bracket fastened to the very back inside edge of the runningboard?

Yes, the rear bracket uses the same bolt holes that are used to attach the running board to the rear fender and is curved to follow the shape of the fender and also is bent to horizontal toward the front of the car with holes to attach the springs of the antenna. (A curved L bracket)
