Is there anyone that has a 31 Phaeton that has a boot for the top? Also, are there replacement rivets for the top mechanizum available? Thanks in advance.

Top rivets?? Where.

Are you coming to an unnamed city in June? I might be able to bring my boot so that you can measure it.

The rivets that hold the top arms together. I can send you a picture of what I am looking for and yes, I am going to be there.

Yep, send me a photo. or on a drawing.

And if you want me to bring my boot, you will need to REMIND ME on Friday before the week. I'll pack on Sat/Sun and depart on Monday.

Sal if you get a pattern I would like to get a copy. Don't have a top boot for my '31 Phaeton. Don't take the top down very often so not sure when I would use one. Good to have anyway.

I would also like to have one for my '31 Phaeton. Maybe we could get three of them made at a special price????

I would also like pattern or picture for the top booth for my 31 Phaeton. Since mine was purchased new in Oslo, Norway, the rear sides of the top has 'gypsies' rather than the rounded finish that appears to be original here in the US. This should not matter as far as top booth dimensions. Jo Storaker VCCA 18184

Do any of you have a car that does not have the support arms to hold the top when it is down? I do not have them on my car and when the top goes down it rests on my trunk and does not allow any place to attach the boot. We need to get some pictures of everyone's phaetons and compare.

Sal,

Did you find a source or way to replace the rivets on your chrome top irons? I need the same for my 31 Cabriolet.

Thanks

Hi Dave, so far I have just looked in the McMaster-Carr catalog. They have a large selection of rivets, but I think that you would have to buy to many just to do one top. Right now I am still looking.

Sal, I think I am going to use the filling stations rivet headed screws VT-22 for attaching the dog leg to header chrome. They look okay, just flatter heads than the original rivets.

Now I just need to find some chrome fasteners for the bars and bar locks.

Dave
