Just purchased a very nice 63 Impala 4 door post sedan. It has a very nice stock from the factory green interior. The car has had in the past, a prolonged heater core leak which has left it with some stinky carpet. I peeled back the carpet and found a tag on the carpet that reads Collins and Aikman 4882002 Chevy green. Did this company produce carpet for Chevrolet, or has it been replaced once already? Looking for the correct color replacement carpet and I am not sure if this dark green is the correct color or not. Anyone have any input on what companies out there produce good stock replacement carpet?

The front should match the rear carpet exactly....seldom the rear is replaced on a original type car.

I take it that the front and rear carpet are separate pieces as delivered from the factory then?

Yes, If I remember correctly 1971 was the first to have a single piece front and rear carpet.
