After heating and pounding the tie rod ends into submission ,the plugs came out..Now the repair plugs don't fit. Does anyone have a tap to thread the female fitting. I think it's 7/8 diameter 16? thread..Would be happy to rent this tool..Thank Bill

If the new slotted end plug will not screw in you might check the TPI on the new one vs the original. The repair kit I got when I reworked mine had different TPI than the plug that came out.

It sounds as if you had more trouble removing your plugs than I did. I reused my old plugs.

Hello Bill, I probably can come up with another tie rod assembly if it is for a 28. Or if you just need the ends, that wouldn't cost much to ship. If you think you damaged the threads it may not be all that good to reuse what you have. You don't want it popping apart at an inopportune time. We went through Phoenix a couple of weeks ago on vacation. Send me a pm.
