Can anyone recommend a reputable shipper for shipping a vehicle cross-country?

My experience so far is if one goes on-line and requests a free shipping quote, they get bombarded with a landslide of responses. Checking the references seems to be hit or miss deal as well. Basically the shipping agent that contacts you immediately says he has a driver (to hook you), when in fact he really doesn't. Then it goes down hill from there.
Thanks for the help.

I used Passport Transport last September to transport a car about 800 miles. They scheduled delivery when on My requested time. I was given the driver's phone number. He called me about an hour before delivery to let me know what time he would be at my address. If I ever need another vehicle transported I will call them.

Your best bet is for an enclosed transport with the cross country trip and the weather! Intercity Car Transport one way Total: $2,495.00 from California to here in Massachusetts and there is no middle man as you directly deal with the driver of Intercity Transport.

www.intercitylines.com I have not used them but working for a heavy truck dealer we did service some of their trucks and I can say that the drivers were great to do business with. The ones we dealt with were very pleasant and also old car owners. It was very interesting to hear of some of the exotic and valuable cars they moved, especially since they got to drive the cars on and off the carriers.

Thank you for the responses. I contacted both Passport and Thomas Sindy and both quotes were in the ball park of what was posted above.
