Not for a Chevrolet
More like a 25-28 Buick

Yes that certainly looks like a Buick lamp that has a missing lens. Plain reflectors had fluted/patterned glass lenses. Buicks marked Parabeam?
Chevrolets used fluted reflectors with a plain glass lens.
Two lamps were fitted in '25, the early being the same as fitted to '24 models and had a one piece steel nickeled rim. The second type came later, I suspect with the balloon tyres, and used a clamp type rim made from aluminium and carried on through the '26 model also. Both shells were the same size, and to look at (plain saucepan) but the rims are not interchangeable.
Early '25 models had beaded edge 23" tyres, late '25's had 21" balloon tyres as well as other detail changes.

Sorry, have not checked site for a few days..
Firstly, that headlight likely has been fitted because it was all that could be found, looked good or someone had no idea it was wrong to start with. And Chev bits are not likely to abound in the UK.
Information? Well all that blurb I unloaded was from having owned a '25 for 40 + years and what one learns, and still learning! There may be better information in this site available to members, and perhaps others might like to comment. I would be surprised if there is not a list somewhere noting all the differences between the Chev Fours, particularly the '25-28 period where there seems to be a lot of justified confusion.

Can't remember when, but there was a major writeup by the TA's for 1925-28 in the G&D. It was perhaps the best definition of the 4 years 0f 4-cylinders. ALL the major items was covered in that issue.

Someone remember the date?

November 2013. The articles covered 1925-1931 and are full of very useful details.

Much thanks to the TA's who wrote them.

Cheers, Dean

Some past issues of the G&D magazine are online as flipbooks in the members area of the web site off of the VCCA Home Page. The members area requires a separate login. The login for the Chevy Chatter forums is separate from the members area off the VCCA Home Page. However, you can register for the members area with the same user ID and password as the Chatter forums.

Here's a 'map' that will get you to the November 2013 magazine, wherein lies the article:

VCCA Home Page > Member Services > Technical Information > Resource Center > G&D Flipbook > Year 2013 > November

Cheers, Dean

Danie,

I have a set of 24 lights. They are missing most if not all of the little clips that hold on the rims. Also, the rims will need to be re nickeled - they are currently painted. Nice reflectors. Send me a pm if you end up needing them.
