All,

I want to thank this discussion group for enabling a dream of mine. Approximately 18 months ago I decided that I finally wanted to drive a 31 Chevy that my father had owned since I was 6 years old. Despite not having changed my own oil since I was a teenager through the support of this group I was able to address a number of mechanical issues in the vehicle and drove it around the block several weekends ago. This was the first time that this vehicle moved under its own power in over 52 years.

Here is a video of the first trip.

Note that I suspect that one of my cylinders is misfiring. Maybe those with an expert ear could give a listen?

None of this would have been possible without all you help.

VERY COOL!!! carbana Very cool indeed!
Nice looking machine (as my grandfather called his cars). I don't have an expert ear, so I can't comment about its sound, but congrats on getting the old buggy moving again and sharing the video.

Happy Motoring,

Dan

Very cool, and a very nice looking car. Lots of pride and fun when they move again after a long slumber like that.
